The People’s Money 2024: Join Idea Generation Sessions at NYPL!
The New York Public Library is partnering with the New York City Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) to support the third year of The People’s Money. Through November 22, select libraries will host Idea Generation Sessions.
What is the People's Money?
This is NYC’s Participatory Budgeting (PB) initiative, where community members help decide how part of the city's budget is spent. It’s open to all New Yorkers ages 11 and up, regardless of immigration status.
In 2023, thousands of residents participated by submitting and voting on ideas that funded impactful community programs. Check out last year’s funded programs!
What is an Idea Generation Session?
These hands-on workshops help you learn about the city budget cycle, identify community needs, and brainstorm project ideas through interactive activities.
How do I participate in Idea Generation Sessions?
Anyone 11 and older can participate! Submit an idea online or attend a workshop in person to design your idea with fellow community members.
Check out the list of NYPL locations hosting Idea Generation Sessions below, or visit the CEC website. (Please check our Events Calendar for dates and times of each session).
