Queen’s Quarterly
Queen’s Quarterly, “The Magazine for Gay Guys Who Have No Hangups,” was a gay lifestyle magazine that began in New York City in 1969 and was loosely modeled after the popular men’s magazines of the day, such as Esquire, GQ, and Playboy. The magazine covered men’s fashion, cultural events in New York City, astrology, and dating and health advice for gay men from a humorous and campy point of view, along with a range of beefcake photography. Queen’s Quarterly’s fun and erotic tone complemented the more serious and political LGBTQ+ magazines of the 1970s.
