Brooklyn and Queens Libraries

The New York Public Library has locations in the boroughs of The Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island. The boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens are supported by their own separate library systems, which can be found here:

Brooklyn and Queens residents are still welcome to apply for a New York Public Library card.

Additionally, as a courtesy to other New York City library users, Brooklyn Public Library and Queens Library cardholders may use their existing card, once it is linked to The New York Public Library. Visit any NYPL location in person to link your card.

Please note that materials borrowed from The New York Public Library branches cannot be returned at the Brooklyn Public Library or Queens Library, and materials borrowed from the Brooklyn and Queens systems cannot be returned to New York Public Library locations.

You may report your Brooklyn Public and Queens Library card lost at any New York Public Library location if the card is in the NYPL database. You are still responsible for notifying Brooklyn Public Library or Queens Library about a lost or missing card. A replacement Brooklyn Public Library or Queens Library card can be issued only at a BPL or QL location.
